Help with ID Please -- Aiptasia???

Is this aiptasia (see attached pics)? It's been slowly growing for the last several months and hasn't spread anywhere else in the tank. The diameter of the base is about 3/4 inch now. Is this something I need to try to kill now or does the fact that it hasn't spread anywhere mean that it's probably safe to leave? It does look pretty cool and I'd really prefer not to have to kill something in the tank if I didn't absolutely need to.

That does indeed look like aiptasia. Although cool looking, they can multiply quickly and can be deadly to corals. If you don't have any corals, its up to you whether you want to keep it. Check out http://www.reefcorner.com/SpecimenSheets/aipatasia.htm as well as other sites that discuss eradication methods.
 
That looks like a brown tube anemone that is common on Florida LR. From what I understand, they are not aptaisia but will spread quickly also. I get rid of mine with an injection of pure liquid calcium.
