well here is my situation so my buddy and i had a place for around two years and in that time i had two tanks one of which i let him use and keep in his room.
So he raised a green terror did a beautiful job with much of my assistance but the problem lays in the fact that i now own my own house and have both tanks back as mine.
Now i am stuck with a green terror beautiful mind you but i have raised and bred cichlids for 6 or 7 years now and have now moved on too planted tanks and community tanks.
Dont get me wrong i love cichlids and have a beautiful pair of mated oscars and have had many many others, but im tired of this corner tank with only one fish that kills everything put in the tank with it.
one of the LFS a private joint wont take trade or even give me a few plants for the fish of which he drools over when shown pictures.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AND KEEPING IS NOT AN OPTION!

just cut your losses and give the fish away to the LFS. which is more important to you, having the tank back or getting a couple plants out of the deal?
what about a local fish club or cichlid society? ebay or aquabid- local pickup only. . . classified ads in the paper. . . posters in the lfs or local petshops, etc. . . . . the classified ad section of this site. . . craigslist. . . local aquarium. . .

yeah thats what i am going to do but i just wanted to grab some other perspectives before i did so.
well then tuesday he goes

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side...I was just thinking my community tank is kind of a pain in the *** and wouldn't mine having a tank with 1-3 large ciclids or something :)

Chicken had a lot of ideas, I would definitely try another way of selling the fish before I just gave it away to a guy who didn't even want it badly enough to cough up a couple of plants.

Now I'm trying to get my bare bones 55 set up and aquarium money is at a premium with me so realize where I'm coming from here, but... a little patience will probably net you a few bucks, don't you think?
