help with lighting

i bought a 18'' undercabinet light at wallmart it says 60 watt output is this good?
 
its a lights of america i was going to put 2 on my 55g sorry no way to post pics.
 
is it something like this?

Are you going to use the tank for plants? I ask this because i dont think this will be enough light. What you can do is try getting is a 48" shoplight it will provide more wpg for your tank.
 
thats it, i was wanting to add a few plants
 
2 of those (15w each) over a 55g would be considered Very Very low light (.5wpg). I had .7wpg and the plants were at a stand still, werent growing at all. See if you can return the undercabinet light or use it under your cabinet :P and try and get a 48" 2 bulb shop light, it should cost in the $20-40 range for a decent fixture.

What kind of plants do you want to add?
 
ill do that thanks, hornwort the other is green and purple with long skinny leaves
