Help with LR buying online

I'm planning on buying about 40lb of LR. I've look at Petco online (http://www.petco.com/Shop/petco_ProductList_PC_productlist_Nav_449_N_10878.aspx?Ns=P_FamilyName|0) and their prices are fairly good, although these rocks are only partially cured. Or I can buy LR from a local saltwater store that sells it $5.99 per lb. (fully cured).

my Question is. Which is a better deal? should i buy it online b/c it is cheaper?

live rock is an item where the difference between good and bad is enormous. i wouldnt go to petco for an item like that.

for me personally, as a newbie not knowing what to look for in LR, decided to go with the best, and that is premiumaquatics.com.

I have 2 PetCo rocks that I bought just for the holes in them but I certainly wouldn't fill a tank soley on them. They tend to be quite limited in shape and lacking in diversity I've found.

$5.99 is a good price for getting to pick out you pieces, you do have to think about that. you may want to get at least some of your LR from the lfs so you can pick some beauties... as far as online goes, i too have heard nothing but good things about the LR from tampabay...

i'm getting mine trough tampabaysaltwater, and a few select pieces from my lfs, i'll let ya know how the rock from TBS is, but i have heard nothin but good things about them, and some guy had an octopus hitchhike on his rock from there, so that was my selling point, if you can get somethin that cool on it it must be good
