my fish tails are starting to fray on the ends do i need to worry about this. its no white spot so what do i do and why is this?

Hmmm...what kind of fish? Did you just get the tank and add fish, or "cycle" the tank? (Lot of ways to do this cycling thing; if you send a message to one of the resident experts, like Roan Art, you'll get great answers).

v/r, N-A

They may be nipping each others fins, my black skirt tetras do that to each other all the time. As long as the rips are tiny (not so much missing that the fish can no longer swim properly), and they don't get fuzzy white stuff on them or anything abnormal, all should be fine. If the fish are healthy and eating quality food they should heal quickly.

A little more info needed.

Size of tank, what kind of fish, how many....

How long has the tank been set up and what kind of cycle did you do....

Do you have any test kits where you could give us your ammonia and nitrite readings, and pH & nitrate if possible...

Cycling....

P.S. Per Roan's signature, I think she would prefer the questions to be posted at one of the forums, vice sending a PM.
