Help with my new 55 gallon tank!!!

Forget the "inch" of fish theory.

You do not need to do a fishless cycle. By moving one of the existing filters over and some of the decor, you are seeding the new tank with bacteria. However that bacteria will not be enough to support all those fish in the other three tanks.

However, you are greatly increasing the total volume of water which will dilute the wastes.

Move your fish over and watch the water parameters until the bacteria establish themselves to handle the bio-load.

Yep......:)

Thanks, Guys!!!!
My inhabitants are exploring their new amazing home!
I appreciate everyone's advice!

No problem...just monitor your ammonia and nitrites for about a week..do water changes whenever you have indication of either until they are zero..

OK, so it looks like everyone is adapting happily to the new tank - the snails are mating and a pair of guppies look like they are not far behind!!!
Spring is in the air:)
