help with rock arrangement

i like arrangement #3 the best. any other suggestions?

i think im going to settle down with arrangement #3 after playing around with these rocks. OOO fun!

None of the above.

Can't you lay the large one down angled from the front left corner towards the center and trail the others in line or in front of the line to make it look like one outcropping kind of diminishing into the far right? I would use more gravel too especially if you are planting live plants.

Or the two largest clustered on one side and the others fading away like this: __ . . . into a forest of plants.

Or . __ . .

I think spreading them out a bit might work depending on the plants.

My problem with #3 is that it is too symmetrical. #1 is closest to a japanese garden look, although it does not quite work for me. Maybe with the plants in there...

I like the look of #3. Although I would shift that configuration to a little more to one side or the other, not leave it in the middle.
