My large 3 year old Angel lost an eye in a fight with another (now deceased) Angel two years ago. He has managed fine ever since, swimming around a bit lob sided so he could find his food.
Last week his remaining eye went white and cloudy and has got worse despite treating the water with Melafix and Pimafix. It's obvious the eye is useless and he can't see at all now and he stays in one corner of the tank all the time. He has lost his colour and his fins are raggy as though he has been picked on by other fish, although I haven't seen this happen.
He doesn't feed at all except when i hand feed him with tweezers. Tonight he is spitting the food back out and he looks awful. I don't want him to suffer and know it is time to let him go, but how? If I just leave him it could take ages for him to die, whilst starving and being picked on by the other fish. (I don't have a spare tank to put him in)
Has anybody got any advice, please, as I want to do what is best for him.
