Help with small tank

I've got a 2.5 gallon mini-bow tank with an internal "whisper" filter that a friend gave to me so that I could keep a fishtank in my dorm. I'd like to keep 1 ADF, 1 betta, a good clump of java moss, and maybe 1-2 shrimp in it, and i've got a few simple questions.

I've kept bettas and adf's individually before, but never together like this and never with a filter or java moss. So how often should I do water changes? I don't plan on keeping gravel in there to make it super easy to clean, but i'm goin to put a fake plant and a cave or something.

Do the shrimp produce a lot of waste and stuff? Would it be better and healthier for the other residents to leave them out? I've even heard that they help keep the tank clean. Is that true? Will they just eat leftovers from my messy adf and the betta? And where can I buy these shrimps? Also, will they breed and become a problem? I don't want to deal with 50 shrimp out of nowhere.

I know its a lot of noob questions, so huge thanks to anybody who helps me out!

2.5 g is the bare minimum for keeping anything. have a betta OR a frog OR some shrimp, with shrimp being the best choice. there is simply not enough space or water volume for all three of those options. plus you don't list a heater with the tank.

You could do a cool exotic small shrimp tank wiith some cool gravel and a plant with some moss too. A betta will eat the shrimp and a frog will be very crampped. I vote for shrimp!!!!!

I vote shrimp!

(And second or third or where ever we are on the "having all three species in a tank that small is not a great idea.)

I vote crowntail betta

5 gallons is the minimum for an ADF, so no ADF (Even though I love them!!)

Plus the betta or the shrimp might take a swipe at it.

I would say, as the above have said, Shrimp!!
There are very cool varieties out there, and they just look damned cool on plants and such!

small tank

I vote 1 betta, they don't require a large tank infact they come from shallow waters in Indonasia. They may eat shrimp, frogs are not a good joice they can get rather large.

bettas don't come from shallow puddles like people think. i think shrimp would work best. it is a bit small for a betta cause they do like some swimming room. just cause they can live in a cup doesn't mean they should. the three together would just kill each other
