We'll leave the bottom open for Cories and Khuli's.

That should give ya some activity. Not sure how much rest the shoal would get though.

But i would want 10-15 Clown Loaches with that much swimming area...

I still like you initial planned set-up (minus the balas). Also still think you may want to add one more school of tetras. Pick a color that you want to add and choose from there (Red==Flame tetra, Blue==Kerri tetra, Purple==Emporer Tetra, Black==Black Phantoms, Sparkle==Diamond, ect).
