I admit I'm a little nervous about using medications on my betta to treat popeye and finrot. I'd like to know before I try this route if there are any dangers that I should look out for when using Maracyn/Maracyn II (and other similar medications). I would be using a separate quarantine tank to treat the betta in question.Is there anything I should know before I begin this treatment? I'll be getting the meds tomorrow & I don't want to screw things up...

the directions say (in my case) dissolve 1/2 tablet in the tank, no water changes are necessary. Then I'm suppose to reduce this dosing amount by half for the next 4 days... HOWEVER, I need to do water changes to keep ammonia down. Are my water changes going to confuse and dilute the dosing amounts? I'm taking out 50% of the tank water out per day.
Should I pre-dissolve 4 days worth of tablets in a big bucket of dechlorinated water and use this for water changes?
