I screwed up my mix changed yeast and it was much stronger anyway boiled over in my main set of tanks was less than 1hr(checked it) but noticed the smell in the room before I saw it.
I pulled the u-tube to the other tanks shut off the intake valve.Did a 80% water change on that tank.30% on the main system (tank contaminated has very low flow to others but does)
6hrs latter every thing cool.I also added some good carbon to my overflow box.
Anything else I should do or worry about the contaminated tank is running back on the main system now dont realy want to do another water change as I'll have a bloom did my big change 3 days ago:mad:
Honestly dont think much got in the tank but very worried ALL my cool fish are in there.

around 20 adult congos,4 bolivion rams,5 runmmy nose,3abino aracnus, royal pleco, sweet blue ram,6 SAE,5FlyingFox,5 gara ping pings,10 ottos,20 assorted live bearers&tetras.200 red rams horn snails,20 mystery fish fry+a list of plants as long as fish.
I,LL quit for a while If I have a tank kill.

Where do I get the pressurized parts I might beable to come up with a tank and regulator.Or a whole kit I'm done with DIY

did you count each of those snails ;) .

One concern would be the alcohol that has been introduced into the tank. I am pretty sure that the water probably took care of it, though. I also wonder if it may have affected you biofilter colonies.

Somethings to be watching out for. . .

If nothing else watch out for any drunken behavior.

No I didnt count them but had all of them in my hand(guestimated) when I got them three weeks ago:D
The sump filter on this set is extreme over kill should handle a 90 bio mass kill and still show no amonia spike I'll feed 1 cup live strained glassworms and never see a spike the next day.Lots of bloated full fish:rolleyes:

If I remember correctly Somefinn, you have been getting scared about using DIY for a while now, right? Well, it looks like your fears almost came true. Maybe you are pushing how much you are adding to your container.

I'm sorry about your troubles. I use DIY myself (only for about 2 months), but I don't see my possibility for change to pressurized, yet. I use two Nutrafin systems with an internal filter and reactor setup in my 20 gallon. I'm now pulling 25 to 30ppm (may drop to 20 during day), and things are working OK so far. Wish me well!

never easy

Not to burst anyone's bubbles but from the posts I read from time to time, it is easy enough to kill all your fish with pressurized CO2 systems also. I've read two or three accounts now of unexpected end-of-tank dumps, several times of random changes in needle valve settings or regulator outputs.

It is wise to use a DIY bubble counter with the DIY CO2, as much to help contain any foamup as to keep an eye on actual output.

OMG somefinnfishy how big is your tank???

With all those fish it must be huge, in which case DIY yeast method may not be the way to go. (Not that I'm one to talk, because I don't have CO2 at all.)
