I have a 1 gallon tank and I have a betta... He has ick.. I have tried medication, and my brothers girlfriend put salt in there for me after the tank was cleaned.. I didnt put them both in at the same time.. But now the ick looks worst! What can I do?? I have tried cleaning the tank!!

Follow the ich directions, you will need to use it more than once. Add Aquarium salt - amounts are on the package, just add it at the same time. Is the betta in a heated tank?
Cathy
P.S. Ich has a 3 stage life cycle, familiarize yourself with it - there are lots of articles about curing it. The only way to kill is completely is when it is in the free swimming stage. Is the betta still eating?

no the tank is to small for a heater :( he does need to be in a heated tank though I know.. But yeah he is still eating..

salt and heat are the best medications for diseases. everything else will not work and/or have a negetive effect on fish.

Don't mix salt + medication. Since there is already salt in there, you might as well do the salt treatment, without heat. How much did she put in? You'll need about 1½-2 teaspoons per gallon.

Here's the article on treating ich with salt:

Since you can't up the heat and I'm assuming it's at room temperature, treat for 14 days after you see the last spot disappear and you should kill all the ich in the tank.

Ok Jodi took my fish home and she is going to help it, because I now have a 10 gallon tank im trying to take care of that I keep having problems with. So whenever my betta is better he gets to come home :).. Thanks Jodi :) !!

The betta is in a 1g tank. I have added 1tsp of salt. The tank has no heater and the temp is about 76 i put a blanket around the tank to keep the heat in lol...dont know if that will do anything or not but I figure at least it will help keep the stress of the betta down. Should I add more salt? Or should I just leave it at 1tsp? This is the worst case of Ich I have seen on a living fish.

No, I'd up it to at least 1½ salt. No more than that for now. I think more will stress the betta out too much. Jakers had a really bad case as well so I can sympathize with the fish.

Can you put the tank on top of the fridge or something? Should be warmer up there.

Thanks for the advice. Never thought about the fridge, that is a good idea. I was walking around the house last night trying to find the warmest spot, I was gonna put it in front of a heater duct on the floor but I figured with 5 cats, a fish on ground level probably wasnt a good idea LoL.

thanks for helping me betta!
