My sword has a long white flower floating on the surface. The flower is now growing roots.
I can't identify the type of sword specifically. Green leaves, a white flower.
can I plant this flower? layer it? cut it off?

help?

Thanks.

Wait for it to develop into a little sword plant before you cut it from the mother plant.
A nice root system of it's own and 3 or 4 leaves or so should do it.

it's called a rhizome, I believe. It's the way some plants propogate! Don't bury it, if you want more swords, because I think that'll kill the new runners.

I'm sorry about this, the roots were free floating and not growing from the sword. Apparently most swords reproduce by seed
