I have had this pleco for about 3 months now. The tank he is in was cycled properly using bio spira. The tank is 46 gallons. He is acting fine but what is this white spot in him? I have never had a fish come down with ich or a disease please help me identify. My water parameters are all good that was the first thing i checked when i saw the white spot. That is the only spot on him.

hmm. really difficult to tell from the pics. Can you describe the spot? Is it fuzzy, fluffy or patchy?

Not fuzzy at all it just looks like his normal skin just lost color. Is it possible he burned it on the heater?

the pics are really bad its hard to tell. looks like a common pleco. it will out grow your tank fast and can grow to about 26 inch. first thing i always think of when someone says white spot is ick. that looks a little big though. like pl*co said can you describe it more. also what is good? what are your numbers from the test of your water? the more info you give the better people can help you.

ammonia is 0 nitrite is 0 nitrate is 5 and the ph is 7.6. The spot is flush with the skin of the pleco and just looks like a discoloration. I am well aware of how big it can get and will take action when that time comes.

from what i can see in the picture and what your saying flush with the skin etc it may have gotten nipped or chased and hit something hard and is healing i will look into some other possibilities.
