heres my test results

ok so here are my results of doing my water test....since this is new, i need to know if these are good.

PH 7
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrates 0ppm
Nitrites 0ppm

so let me know how these are and what i need to fix if so

how old is this tank? u want ammo and nitrites to be 0 but there is almost always nitrates..

its about....5-6 months old? What would cause 0 nitrates? I guess I can re-test morrow to see if i hadnt messed it up

had you done anything recently, Ie water change, use prime? or any type of chemcial for the tank?

I did a water change on...friday. I dont use chemicals in my tank except for CO2 and ferts

If it's planted the plants use up the nitrates.

0 nitrates in a planted tank is generally not good, it means you are very low on an essential nutrient for plants and may be inhibiting plant growth. You're not dosing enough ferts, at least enough nitrates.

ok, ive been using the EI dosing guide as a way to dose my ferts dry for my 48G breeder....maybe ill up the doses

Your nitrate test kit might be bad if you are getting a reading of zero. Since you have the EI ingredients you can make a test solution of like 20 ppm and verify your test kit is accurate.

These bad nitrate kits seem to be happening more lately than usual.
