I have 10 red leg and 10 blue leged hermits. I keep finding body parts , legs mainly all over my sand. Do hermit crabs shed like shrimp do is that all i am seeing. I only have 3 damsels, 3 clowns, 2 Sand stars, snails, a small conch, and a shrimp in there nothing could be killing them can they

Hermits will in fact molt, as will pretty much all invertebrates. IME, hermit molts don't stay together as well as the molts of other crabs and shrimp. First time out sally light foot molted, it was two days before we moved the crab to another tank. I went to pick the crab up, and it fell apart in my fingers--I freaked out, til I noticed there weren't any 'bits' inside the shell!
I know blue legs can be mean and kill other hermits, make sure the shell is hollow or that there areny shells empty. Also I know in another post you are going through your cycle still??
