Just wondering if anyone has had hermit crabs breed in their reef tank. And if so, anything special you did to cause it? I'm new to the site, but have had up to 55 saltwater tanks at one time (my largest was 135 gal), and not once have I ever had hermit crabs breed. I've had red, blue, white and brown leg, as well as scarlet. I'd like to know what you all have found with them, Thanks!!

Well we think out hermits breed.. our red leg hermits that is... we noticed the other day one was rocking back and forwards almost out of it's shell on closer inspection loads of tiny tadpole like things were swimming out of the shell as well, there were a lot of them and to be honest they were swimming in the water column but what with the filters etc didn't last to long.. and I would have no idea how to keep them alive... cool to watch though.
