i have had 2 bettas for well over a year now, but one of them seems like he is constipated. he is bloated, and always has stringy feaces. i tried feeding him a mushed up pea, but he wont accept it, or anything for that matter. i was thinking maybe i just wont feed him for a few days? maybe that would help?

The stringy waste is a sign of something is it whitish looking, I had an oscar with this when i first got him from the store he didnt make it I think it has something to do with internal parasites. The thing is though his stomach was all skinny and compressed and your beta is bloated and plump . He must have something or else he would be eating normally .I tried looking it up and It could be swim bladder didease the trouble is caused
by poor diet, sudden water changes and pressure or temperature changes. Overfeeding might also be a contributing factor. It could also be Constipation, Cease feeding the fish for a few days when constipation develops, its also advisable to fast your fish once a week to prevent this condition ... Hope this helps good luck with your alpha beta gamma . :D
