Hey all, I'm kinda new to the fish hobby, so maybe I can learn a thing or two here. I've got some pictures of my new tank to show yall. Let me know what you think.
Well, it looks very nice! But I would be very worried of the stresses being generated since the tank overhangs the stand severely. Also, many of the fish you have will quickly out grow that small of a tank. Sorry.
There is a ton to learn here and the folks here won't steer you wrong! It may not always be what you want to hear or pleasant to hear (trust me on that one), but everyone wants to help you avoid their past mistakes and help you and your fish be happy.

I agree with that statement about the overhanging. I learned the hard way when my beautiful 60 gallon cracked from the bottom left corner right up to the the top in the middle. I came home from work to find my cichlids in about 3 inches of water and most were dead...4 survived but died later in the week (probably from stress). My whole basement floor was completely soaked (its carpeted i might add) and it took about 3 months for everything to dry up completely. It sucked. Trust me, you don't want that to happen. Invest in a bigger stand suited for your size tank and you should also put a piece of styro foam under it...not sure why but people suggest it, I put some under my 50. Also, the fish you have are all nice, but the clown loaches and balas will get to be atleast 10" and thats pretty big! Not sure about the size of the knifefish, hes beautiful though! All in all, the tank looks really nice, i love the white gravel! I wish I had white gravel sometimes! Good job on the tank and welcome to AC!
