Grins. I really value your opinion. My short time in the SW world has been moved along painlessly by reading your answers for a while now. So my question is this... I have two Bio-wheels 200's on a 55g. They are causing tiny bubbles in the water column. I don't have any powerheads as of yet. Are those bubbles bad? If so how do I make them they go away? It's a FOWLR system. Anyone else is more than welcome to chime in...

Those bubbles are a byproduct of the water passing through the air before it hits the surface of the tank.
This is partially it. Is there much of a gap between the water falling from the filter to the top of the water in the tank? That splashing will introduce minute bubbles, which aren't necessarily bad, just a little annoying and visually displeasing. You can raise the water level bit more, but the gas exchange will be reduced. Wait to do that until you get powerheads. Another option is to do way with the biowheels altogether and just make due with plenty of live rock and good circulation (which will be enough for all but the absolute most heavily stocked tanks).

I would certainly dump the bio wheels and use powerheads for circulation and rock for filtration....
The bubbles aren't particularly bad in a FOWLR system, although many people find them asthetically displeasing. The easiest way to get rid of them will be to stop using the biowheel filters. But, that would require more expense if you already don't have powerheads sufficient enough to replace the flow and/or enough LR in the tank to handle all the biofiltration in the absence of the biowheel filters.
Sorry, I was in a game we play here called mafia and it got a bit freaky last night before I found your post. Hooked is a really knowledgable planted tank guy that was in the game and tried to help when my brain was ready to self destruct.
