Hey, I need some help,

Only issue with the Aquaclears is the surface disturbance they cause. That can gas out any co2 you are putting into the tank. They are awesome filters otherwise, and very versatile. If you want to do CO2, I'd definitely recommend a canister, but you could still do low light plants with the AC.

Oh I didnt know that AC filters were bad for CO2 tanks lol. good thing I dont use CO2 then. I love how much they disturb the water and how quiet they are minus the on my lil sis messed up need a new motor or something. But yeah Aquaclears I would recommend to anyone.

they aren't really Bad for CO2 tanks.. you may have to make some modes to reduce splash tho.

;)

most just make an extension of the ramp so it flows to the tank rather than drops off kind of a splash guard

my Aquaclear doesnt splash unless the water level goes down it flows in the tank the ramp that hangs on the glass is in the water.

Ok so if im using co2 (do i really need it?) i need a canister filter. Ok. BUT do i really need co2? I'm not really good with Diy mods though....
