I have a tank with a mated pair of convicts and was wondering what everyone would recommend adding to the tank. I want something odd to add variety, but nothing extremely dangerous.
P.S. the tank is only a 40 gallon.
Thanks everyone :p

If you have a mated pair of convicts in there then I'd definatly make sure I what ever else you put in there can take a seriouse beating, or can get away from the convicts fast. This limits you on what you can put in there. You can't get anything too large or you'll have to get a bigger tank. If you go small and fast, you may not want anything 'too odd' or you may end up spending a lot of money for a dead body.

How big are the cons? I've seen those african frogs survive with smaller cichlids and good top cover. Puffers are hardy and can hide very well, just don't get a very big one, I wished my red-eye was half his current size.

The male is about 4 to 5, he's starting to get his hump, and my female is about 2 to 3. The puffer will be cool, i'm going to think about it. And I'm not sure of the frog? does anyone have any experience with them aswell with cons?
