Well, now you've seen a pic of a female. Leucistic, but a female none-the-less. I just went through that session of photos and it seems she's the only female that shows up. She's a man's lady, it seems (every picture is of her with the boys).

Wow, how did you get a leucistic one? Did you breed her? Isn't that rather rare in the fish world? I mean, we get leucistic snakes fairly often -- less than albino, but you know what I mean.

I have an anerythristic sand boa, myself, not that rare but, it's cool

It was chance really. I happened upon her at a PetCo of all places! In fact, that's where I was able to score all of them. They were an "accidental" shipment I was told, something that just showed up unexpected. I bought them all and was quite pleased with the situation

In fact, that same PetCo had a very smart gal running the fish section for awhile, and had some beautiful rainbows. I bought my Madagascans there, as well as a few Celebese. Yesterday they had the most gorgeous Irian reds. Ahh, beautiful. But my quarantine tanks are filled at the moment. They were overpriced, too. 16$ a pop.

As far as the Leucism (is that a word? LOL), I believe it is rather rare for the fish industry...I couldn't find a lot of documentation on it, really.

Got that right!

That is rather pricey for an Irian. They're pretty common in LFS now, so the price really needs to go down a lot. Boes are still running 7-8 bucks here in the local shops. Sheesh!

Doesn't help that bows take so long to mature, either.

Mhm. They're about 8$ locally, or semi-locally one store is selling them for an outrageous 15$. I think not.

Really though, I almost like that they're more pricy. It prevents new hobbyists or those with bad motives from breeding them and adding to the huge surplus of "Australian" rainbow mutts.
