I just found aquaria central through a link and after reading some of the forums I thought I would join.
I have been keeping fish since I threw a ping pong ball into a bowl and won a goldfish. I had that fish for another 4 years, living in an old peanut butter jar and for the most part I fed it cracker crumbs. He/she died when I gave him new digs in the form of a 10 gallon tank that my Grandma and PaPa gave me, I think all the room was too much. I have come a long way since then.
I still have that same 10 gallon tank for 30+ years, and it was home to a wide variety of fish since then. Currently, it is home to a bi-color blenny and assorted flavors of zoanthids, under 70w MH.
I have had much larger tanks during the years. I got into reef tanks about 8 years ago and have varied success. The current ten gallon has been running for the last 5 years.
I am looking into doing a planted tank for the first time and just started the research, so any pointers would be fantastic.
Look forward to learning and sharing.
