I've been lurking for a while, and post ocasionally, but I think I'm ready go steady with you guys
. I recently got back into the hobby, I started 11 years ago. I guess I never really got out of it; I still have my first fish, a now full-grown common pl*co. When I started college, I downgraded to just the pl*co, which I left at home with my parents in a rather small but managable tank. In August I decided to move him back in with me. At first I only wanted to move him down to school and take care of him myself again, but it got out of hand, and now I'm setting up my third tank. I had forgotten how much fun this is!
Right now, I have two tanks in my apartment. I guess I'll make a tanks page later, but here's a brief description for now. I have a 20 tall in my room, planted (too heavily at the moment), with a pair of dwarf gouramis, six broken-line tetras, and an oto (and about a million snails). The second is a 72 bowfront new world community in my living room. It has the old pl*co, ten juvie Satanoperca Jurupari (I'm going to sell half of them when they grow out), three Archocentrus Spinosissimus, and one out-of-place Parkinson's rainbow.
Space and resources can be tight in college, so I've come up with a scheme to feed my addiction. I'm convincing my friends, one by one, to let me set up tanks for them in their places. I'll provide the tanks, set them up, maintain them, and help them understand fishkeeping better. Later today, I'm doing a 10 gallon at a friends house, and I'm also getting another guy going on an indoor goldfish pond. Pretty sneaky huh?
So that's about it for me. You have a great site here, I've learned a lot already and hope I can contribute a bit too!
