Hi! Welcome to AC! Yes, you can, in terms of water conditions (obviously, right?), but I believe that the shub will eventually get much larger than the average red cap, and having different body types and feeding speeds, I don't think it is generally recommended. Still a better combo, IMHO than a telescope or bubble eye with a shub. This will get the goldfish Gurus' attention shortly, I'm sure.
