Brief summary of his tank, it's a 75 gallon kit from marienland, I upgraded the lights to Beamswork 48 DA FSPEC. I am planning to add some sand and some some artificial stones to the tank. I think plant won't suit very well with him. Might look for a 3D background that won't cost me arm and leg, currently I have a blue ocean background.

There are some DIY 3D backgrounds I've seen using foam. Check for some, way beyond my skill level but nice!

I know what you mean.. These Cichlids rarely stay still unless spooked. ?
