I like the changes--makes the fish really pop!! I'm not sure I like the substrate with fish that colorful--I'd have liked a darker substrate--like you were originally going for. Overall though--your tank is AWESOME!!!! It has a nice clean look to it. The pictures you are taking are very well done as well :thm: Keep 'em coming!!!!
Good photography for sure. I like the look of your tank, the substrate is fine. I'd start looking for a more natural rock-scape now. Your tank is impressive as is, it's just those few details in the aquascape that'll really set it off. Keep posting pics, really enjoying them.

Well, there's this old quarry near me, been closed for years. I raided it, found loads of nice rocks and piles of slate...scrubbed them all but still waiting for cloudiness of water to go down, I'll get some pics up when it does

Installed all the rock and slate, still not happy with the look of it but just gonna leave it as it is, its growing on me. Looks good as a mess I think, more natural. Anyway here's some photo's, sorry they're a bit blurry took them in a hurry:
I think the fish are much happier - look at how bright the male lab has gone...spawned with three females in a row as soon as the rocks were in!

Looks great. The contrast is great between the fish and rockwork. I still like the sand, nice salt-n-pepper look to it.
