Hi everyone! I'm new to the baord and have a couple of questions...

What is the difference between silk plants and plastic plants (other than the obvious)?? Does one look more natural than the other? Do silk plants have to be cleaned more often??

I have a 6 week old 29 gallon tank. Right now I have:

3 albino gold tetras
4 painted glass tetras
2 dwarf gouramis
2 spotted corys
1 fancy guppy
1 african dwarf frog

What are some colorful fish I could add? Would a rainbow fish go with what I have? They are so pretty. I would like to get a few cardinal tetras.. other than that no more tetras. Thanks!!

Silk plants tend to look more natural.

As for you stocking, corys and tetras are schooling fish. You would be better off adding 2 more corys, 4 albinos, and 3 painted tetras. At that point you would be at maximum capacity.

Plastic plants can tear the fins of some fishes--this happened to my veil tail betta.

Also, please don't buy any more painted tetras. See http://deathbydyeing.org/. You should complain to the LFS that sold them to you--not only is the process of dyeing cruel but your fish will have shorter lives and the colour will fade anyway. Get some tetras of the same species but NOT dyed for them to school with.
