Hiding light from aquafuge 2

I just got a new aquafuge 2 hang on refugium. The aquafuge 2 has a black back which is susposed to keep light from leaking into the display. From what I've heard, the fuge should be lit the opposite hours as the display. Well last night I had the light on for the first time, and even though the fuge has a black back piece, the light is so bright that it still illuminates the whole display decently, not to mention my bedroom. Does anyone have any ideas of something I could buy or make to put over the fuge to keep the light from lighting up everything else? Currently I have nothing in the fuge, I had the light running all day today and noticed that is does get hot, so I think covering the whole thing with some sort of cloth would be a fire hazard. Any thoughts?

I have the same thing but I put the refug by the sump so the light is hidden in the cabinet. I wonder if you can use aluminum foil to hide the space between the light and the Aquafuge to reduce the light escaped.

I might try that for a temporary fix til I can get something that looks a little better
