just did a test on my tap water,not showing any signs of ammonia..do you guys/gals think i should use something like ammo lock or would that simply be ignoring the rreal problem? ive read mixed stories about that stuff.
I think it is good for emergencies, but really only masks the base problem. Do 50% changes, dechlor as necessary, match temps, until ammonia/nitrites are zero.
I have done repetitive changes on well established tanks.
Yours may well be not established, but the water changes will not remove want beneficial bacteria you have. The high ammonia/nitrites for me are a greater concern. Think you can get that liquid test kit today?
unfortunately no,should be able to get one tomorrow..will continue with water changes daily untill all settles down..thank you for your help,must go and sort my daughter out...thanks again.
