High phosphate level ?

I have been adding 5ppm PO4 3 x a week(as KH2PO4) for the last few years on this tank:

Never had any algae issues.

PO4 should never be an issue, this is true for non CO2 as well as CO2 enriched planted tanks.
In other words, you are doing something else wrong if you think it's PO4.

A good myth is hard to kill.
Particularly on the internet.

Thanks guys, I'm not really having a problem , just a tad fuzzy algae on some leaves and it might have been time to change the light bulbs which I did tonight. I don't do water tests very often and was just questioning my find to see if it might be a problem.

One more question while I got Brian on here, I am going away for a few days and will not be able to do my EI dosing. What do you reccomend doing when the dosing schedule is interrupted ? I will miss about 2-3 days .

Thanks

Your plants should be fine for 2-3 days. When you get back, just pick up where you left off.

Thanks Slapper !!!!!
I had a brain fart , sorry Tom , I knew someone named Brian Barr and was refering to you using his name :(
Thanks for your input !

If you have algae, you might just turn off the light and cover the tank for weekend.

It should be clean when you return, shut off CO2, do a good water change right before, increase surface current etc.

Return and add this stuff back once you get back, do a water change.

Thanks TOM , that is good to know !
