For flake, Omega is very good. For frozen I feed Hikari Bio Pure Brine Shrimp. I also like the Hikari sinking wafer (not the algae wafer) for all my cories. I find Wardley's to be the worst brand out of all of them.
I think Omega One is by far the best. contains no fish meal, only whole fish and natural ingredients. I have yet to find ingredients that can match Omega One's.
My main staple flake is the Omega One, the usual feeding is 2/3 that and 1/3 Tetra Spirulina flakes. Then, 1 or 2 times a week i'll feed some combination of frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, cichlid chow and emerald entree.
I also have several of the hikari freeze dried's - brine shrimp, daphnia and blood worms. My betta loves the blood worms and the brine shrimp is really neat. It comes out of the jar in these clumps and I thought it was bad when I first got it, but the second it hits the water, it dissolves into a soft slimy mass of shrimp... it goes over big with the fishies!
Lastly, I have wardley's shrimp pellets and spirulina disks that i'll toss in for the bottom feeders if I don't feel they've gotten enough from the first course!
I feed:
Wardley - algae discs
marineland bio blend for bottom feeders
tetra crisps
tetramin tabs
tetramin wafers
freshwater zooplankton ( most fish's favorite)
bio pure, aqua yums, san francisco - frozen bloodworms, white mosquito larvae ( their least favorite), and brine shrimp.
I've tried the new spectrum, various brands of freeze dried, and assorted others foods, but my fish don't eat them so I end up back with above.
The fish I'm feeding are:
4-dwarf bristlenose plecos
3 ottos- ( I never see them eat prepared food)
7- zebra loaches
4- seargent major loaches
2- yoyo loaches
2- weather loaches
2- horsefaced loaches
1- botia modesta
3-spotted raphaels
2-neon zebra danios
8- harlequin espei
4- serpae tetra
3- turquoise rainbowfish
3- yellow rainbowfish
8- panda cories
1-albino corie (the breeder I got the pandas from threw him in)
2 peppered cories
2 - orange stripped cories
3 kuhlie loaches
Fish meal contains very little or no nutritional value at all. I hope you guys are aware of that, fish meal is bones, scales, eyes, brains, all the junk left over, I urgently reccommend anyone not using Omega One to do so, or any other brand that does not contain fish meal. Fish Meal = Bad News.
