Ok, this is straight from the small pellet label, I don't know how the flake food differs because I don't have any.
krill meal, fish meal, wheat flour, amino acids, algae meal, soybean meal, fish oil, beta carotene, spirulina, vitamin A acetate, D-activated animal-sterol (D3), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin supplement, niacin, folic acid, calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine, biotin, DL alphatocopherol, L-ascorbyl-2-polypohospate, choline chloride, cobalt sulfate, copper sulfate, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, ethylenediamine dihydroiodide, ethoxyquin (preservative)
That's the list. I also don't really like the idea of ethoxyquin in my fish food, but I've yet to run across a brand that doesn't use it as a preservative- even the premium brands. But, I have to say that I am a lot more concerned about it in dog and cat food, and I feed brands that don't include it to my dogs.
I'll grant you that Omega One is a good food, and I fed it for quite some time. But, I started to have second thoughts when I read a post on another forum from someone who had had a fish die due to ingesting a flake with a bone in it- this person did a postmortem on the fish and pulled the bone out of it. In that thread, there was at least one more person that responded and had had the same issue. I've never read any reports of this as it applies to NLS. My fish love the food, they show good growth and are healthy, and I'm a believer. In addition to the small fish pellet, I also feed NLS Thera-A large fish pellet, and Thera-A cichlid pellet, with great results as well.
