My female bristlenose always gets sick (extremely bloated) everytime the temperature approaches 30 degrees. I talked about this with experienced staff at an aquarium shop and they told me that this was the rule rather than the exception with bristlenose catfish. They recommended 23-24 degrees.

Well every single one of my fish is in 30 degree water with zero deaths so I guess they are super hero material.
They can live in water that is nice and warn that you could take a nice bath in, my heater liked to wack out on my and the temp in my tank a couple times was really warm, you could feel the heat coming off the glass at around 6'' away................
