Hillstream Loach

I have read a lot of articles about the hillstream Loach on the Internet and I am really confused about they're keeping. Some articles say they are Coldwater fish and some say they do all right in a tropical environment. Can anyone out there tell me if they have one and what kind of environment are they keeping it in. I would like to get one but I have a tropical environment set up and I do not want to get one if this will not be suitable for him.

Mine does just fine in a tropical tank. 75 Degrees. They are bottom feeders, so they can be difficult to target feed. Mine jumps all over any flakes that make it past the other fish, just make sure if you get one that enough food is making it to the bottom... (tricky part) without overfeeding.

I've had two of them in my 55 for almost a year at 76 degrees. They've both grown a little and seem very healthy. Mine tend to cling to the sides of the tank and mostly graze the algae that I encourage to grow on the back wall of the tank.

It's like a lot of fish..they can survive in the tropical tank. For optimal health and to see them as they truely are you need to build a habitat tank for them like their natural habitat.

Check out this info on them. I aquired 3 at a fish auction, not knowing about them. I have since learned what they are, and am looking at building a tank for them.
