do hillstream loaches have to have a buddy 2 play with or will they fight with each other?

loaches enjoy the company of each other..they should be kept in a group of three at least.

you have them in a CW aquarium kept at a low temp with extremely good water flow, right? it does depend on the species, though.

anyway, i've heard of folks keeping them together.

i have a pretty good water flow and water around 60 degree's. i dont no what type it just sed chinese butterfly pleco and it's a little more than an inch, in a ten gallon tank, if they do fight how do they fight?

water in the 60 degree range? what? in your new post you say you have lots of tropical fish. cold water like that is REALLY bad for their health. I think you should get rid of all your tropical fish or your loach.

i'll see how it goes but if it dies soon i no not 2 get another one, thanks 4 the advice!

ha ha ha, its been alive in my tank for 3 weeks now and doing what seems perfectly fine. it was even unnatended for a week and still looks healthy.

I would say 3 is a minimum group size, but 5 is better. :)
hillstream loaches are solitary. says so on several websites.
