I have a snail tank containing ramshorn, mts and pond snails and they don't bother my plants. I have java moss, java fern and another low light plant I don't remember the name. But I do feed my snails, I'm certain if they got hungry enough they could turn to plants. For the most part they only eat decaying plant material.

I actually meant the snails. Some write-ups say they eat plants. I have java fern, anubias petite, java moss, weeping moss, and I just got some banana plants---that's what the snails road in on.
Don't worry about the pond snails... they're harmless. And they don't have population explosions if you don't overfeed and keep your tank clean, as was already mentioned.

I just gave a LFS owner confused looks when I asked her if she can get me a bag full of pouch snails.lol She said she doesn't sell them and why on earth would I need plenty. I told her I know they don't sell them and launched on explaining about my assassin snails. She never heard of assassin snails before but she knew I have plenty other snails which still gather inquisitive and confused looks when you mention them or show them your camera albums.:naughty:
I go through the saaaame thing lupes! I either get uptight managers who refuse to give me pest snails (mostly because they don't know what they are even as I'm pointing at them) or I get weird looks from employees who are grateful: *shrug* "The more you take, the less we have to worry about"
