HOB vs Canister

First, get a 75+,

Second, get two XP3s

Regarding the E-bay sales, This was mentioned on this board a year or two after someone proposed a DIY canister filter. Started by bashing the OP, then told him/her to get a used canister filter. I don't trust filters I can't touch myself. Again, why I went DIY.

I dont see a Reason for two of them. a xp3 is rated for 100+ gallons...

1 its an oscar
2 no such thing as over filtration
3 never listen to manufactures rating
4 gph decreases when you add media

In addition, a single XP3 working at max GPH (not likely) will only turn over the tank a measly 4.5 times an hour.

Although 2 XP2s should be fine as well

i think with regular tank maintenence it would be fine with one.

i figured i would have at least 2 more months before he gets too cramped. is this just wishful thinking? i am going to get at least a 75 gal, maybe a 90. but the question still stands, is there an online vendor that is advertising a xp2 or xp3 for around 100 so i can go pick one or two up at petsmart instead of paying their really high 279 per canister?

Petsmart online 15% off $100 or more orders XP3 $104.99 minus the 15% = $87.24 Free SHipping print it off and see if they match it in store..thats what I'm gonna go do this weekend says they are back ordered online though,or I'd just pay for it and they could send it to me instead of driving 45min one way
