when my marimo ball started turning yellowish green, someone suggested to me to to use a razor, slit a hole and insert stick fertilisers in. she said she did it all the time for her marimo ball and it was successful. so i attempted to do it after much reservations becasue i was afraid to cut the ball into two. and now, my marimo ball has a scar across it. apparently after putting the fertilizer in, the slit refuse to close up and now there is a hole in my ball i wonder if anything can be done to close up the hole and for it to turn back into a ball again. as for the fertilizer, looks like it didn;t help much. now i have a yellow-green ball with a hole! can someone help? thanks
