Hi All,

I bought a piece of artificial driftwood that has holes I'm afraid my fish might get stuck in. Any recommendations on how to plug up the holes?

Thanks!

I just had that happen to one of my Rainbows several months ago. I don't know what you would plug the hole with. But I just bored a few of the holes out bigger and with one hole that was close to the edge of the wood I cut a big chunk out of it.

If I were you, I wouldn't use it. I lost 4 dwarf rainbows over the course of 5 days a couple years back due to a hole on the back on a flowerpot. Before that, a knifefish got stuch in a hole on a piece of fake driftwood and die three days later. I definitely learned my lesson and don't use anything with holes in it that are smaller than my fish!

return it and buy real wood?

My driftwood has lots of holes and nooks and crannies etc, nobody ever gets stuck :/

I agree with the above....I have tons of wood with holes from pencil size to baseball size and Ive never had a stuck fish.

I have had loaches that would look stuck, but really werent in any harm.
