Holy Bees nest batman!

Msjinkzd

Bees around here seem to be a big problem this year I got stung Twice so far.
Glad to see your hobby is bigger then ever and just wanted to drop a line and tell you that you made that 120g tank better looking then ever. I on the other hand have gotten out of the hobby. No money right now being the problem.

Did you re-caulk up the top of the tank?

Hope all is well.

come on now, that's an easy fix. mix up about a 1/2 gallon of some clear fiberglass resin, climb on up there and pour it in, put a lid over the top so the bees can't get out. Let it cure for a little while then knock the mud off and you'll have the coolest bee (or hornets which is more what it looks like) container around on your coffee table or maybe even the fireplace mantel.

how about using a 12 ga. with #8 birdshot? should be nice.

When I was a kid we had one just like that in a tree in front of our house. My dad shot it with a 12 ga. using skeet shot and boy did that tick off those hornets. :FIREdevil:

Heya Chucke! Hope all is well with you and yours (weren't you guys expecting a baby?) The 120 is doing great, i never did caulk the top as I keep the water level dropped anyway so the big boys don't smack the lids.

Yeah we had our daughter in June 2008. She is doing great! those fish are pretty cool How often do you change the water on fish like that and that big of a tank?

We had one of those in a big beech tree in my yard as a kid. It was right around where my sister and I used to play...there were days when I'd come running into the house with 6-7 stings on my back. Man I hated those things. My dad waited til about midnight one night when they were all inside, doused the thing with gasoline and stuck a propane torch up inside it...that took care of them.

That is a hornets nest if I am not mistaking.

:iagree: definitely a wasp/hornets nest. You can tell by many factors including but not limited to nest placement and nest material.

The nest looks to be made out of paper which is produced by wasps/hornets.
