Holy!!!!

Happens to my java fern's roots too. I have mine anchored to driftwood with a very sluggish water flow (it's a betta tank) that doesn't do much to help when sediment and detrius settles on my plants. I don't think it's algae, though I think I have hair or stag algae on my java and reideckii... that stuff is SO stubborn!!! :mad2: I hate it.

Hi

As i said they are roots i just happen to think that the red is algae and not build up. The roots on mine also have brown build up does that mean it algae maybe maybe not.

Now since i have never seen red coloring on my java fern's roots at all i can't say for sure what it is unless i could do a spot treatment with flourish excel then i will never know for sure.

I am aslo tired of this whole topic and defending my thoughts right or wrong. So you win.

Bottom line if your happy with it then i am too.:)
