Home Made Fish Food...

I'd be hard pressed to believe it. I wonder where they got their information from. Acidic food draining calcium from the fish just sounds rediculous, IMO. Especially since they didn't even explain 'how' it happens.
I'd look for more reliable, scientific sources for info.
Spinach is one of the best foods you can feed your herbivorous/omnivorous fishes. It is full of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C and K.
This is not an attack on you, BTW....just your source of info.
If anyone else has anything to share on this subject, then please share your knowledge.

I'm with Slappy on the calcium depletion issue. I've been feeding spinach to my fish and snails for decades. If the calcium depletion was happening I'd have seen some evidence of it, wouldn't I?

this is what I do for a treat for my fish, also good for algea eaters or fish that get out competed for regular food. I get like three or so zucchini's from the store then I cut them lengthwise into quarters or sixthes depending on how big the succini is, then I boil some water and throw the whole batch in for like 30 sec to a min. Let them dry and put them in a ziplock and throw them in the freezer, then whenever you want thaw one out and stick it on a staneless steel fork and throw it in your tank. My african tank gets this once a week overnight, and they love it.

for angelfish treats I whip up a batch of brine shrimp, feed em and let em age a little then add them spread out around my angelfish tanks.

Also they love it when you take dried bloodworm and soak it a little before you add it to the tank. They go mental for that.

Another thing is guppy or endler fry, a tasty snack for angels if you have too many fry.

I have heard of angelfish eating chopped up, hard boiled egg but i dont know about this.
