My hood was starting to get some wood rot from moisture and the lights were too close the wood so it was too hot and scorching a little bit.

I took everything apart sanded it down, gave it several coats of glossy white paint and then re-attached my lights.

I have a cheapo incandescent from walmart, a undercabinet light I had laying around and three lamp sockets.
There are 3 23watt 6500K bulbs, one 15watt 6500K, a GE reveal CFL that I had laying around, and a small 8watt undercabinet T% light.

I broke one bulb in the process so I need to replace it and I would like to replace the 15 watt. So when all is said and done I will be at 2 watts per gallon.

I also want to replace the yellowish undercabinet light with an AquaGlo or something similar that the plants will get more use out of.

The bright white paint is really making a difference in the light levels and I mounted the double lamp sockets on a piece of 1/2 inch wood to keep them from touching anything.

There is a single light socket that is cut out of the picture on the right side, it is the GE reveal CFL, I doubt it does much for plant growth, but it does bring out the reds and browns on that side of the tank nicely.
All of the sockets were attached using silicone and super tight zip ties.
