hood/lid repair?

I have a top for a 29gal that has broken into a few pieces. Can I repair it with Testors or some other type of adhesive--this isn't a part that will be IN the water, but above it--or is it just too risky? I don't currently have fish in the tank, but I'd like to move them from the 20gal to the 29.

I'd just go get a small tube of aquarium safe silicone. Pretty cheap, and handy to have around.

I used 100% silicone to repair the glass lid on my 75 gal. It isn't real pretty, but since I rarely look at the tank from the top, it doesn't much matter. It worked, it's holding up, and that's the real point I suppose.
