I was planning to create a background by using Hornwort strands weighted by Ceramic Cylinders. Just wanted to get some advice / opinions if it will be good and balanced.
I have hornwort, I've tried weighting it down, but usually a piece of it comes loose and it ends up like a giant tumbleweed that takes up one end of my tank. I'm getting rid of it as soon as I find a suitable replacement. I like it for fry tanks, tired of it for display tanks.
I agree with what everyone has said about hornwort. I have some as a background plant for now and it does look nice, but it grows out of control and will break off....I have tons of it floating at the moment. I want to replace it with Vallisneria gigantea, but not sure how that would do with just sand.
