HORNWORT Help

Hi guys,
when i got my Hornwart plant it was nice and green. after a week its is growing but the new leaves are brown in color.
Here is a pic.
I have 1.333 Watts/gal and a 72 gal tank


Is the plant goin to kick th e bucket :sad

Probably a lack of light. 1.3 watts per gallon aint much at all in a 72. I had 1.5 watts per gallon in the same size tank and my hornwart also did poorly. Once i upgraded to 3.7 and C02, it just took off, just like a weed would! :p
 
i figured it would not grow that much.. but whats up with the Brown patchs..

I have found that it is a lack of light that causes the problems with brown hornwort. If you can, add more light to the tank and that should fix your problem. I had a piece that i picked up 7 years ago that I keep trimming and giving to a local shop. I think my plant has produced over a hundred feet of hornwort over time. I have planted my other tanks with this plant and also done offshoots in my garden pools/out door containers with the hornwort as well.
