Hornwort...roots?

You can anchor it to one side by using a suction cup and some loosely tied string.

I've had it grow like crazy in my tanks but it will never stay anchored in the substrate. It eventually falls apart at the base and breaks free.

I believe I read somewhere that Hornwort is not supposed to be planted and is a floating species. My experiences seem to back that up.

I grow hornwort in my 76F tank. I'd rather have it planted because it ends up everywhere otherwise. It is the fastest growing plant I've ever had.

I have two of them in my 130 gal tank and they are great. I have my temp at approx 80 most of time. I anchor them to a rock on each end of the tank with a rubberband. They still break off and get long and thin looking but it takes serveral months for that to happen. They are pretty inexpensive here so if I get a good 6 months I can replace them. It is great for sucking out nitrates, nitrites and and ammonia.
